Manitou

I spent the day today with my friends Cathy and Shannon. They are pretty awesome people:)

We went to Manitou this morning to look around and enjoy the hippiness. We visited tons of shops! I bought some gifts at the Manitou Trading Post, then we headed to Plinkity Plink. It's a small shop filled with very cool music boxes and a really weird maze with a battery operated "bug" running around in it. The best shop, in my opinion was The Leprechaun Shoppe where Cathy and I bought some pretty cool knives! Neither of us needed them, but they were a steal because the shoppe was going out of business. Broke as we were, we couldn't resist.

We ate at the Heart of Jerusalem Cafe, where I had my fabulous Hummus! Yay!! It was kind of awkward though because I had three people come up to me and ask what I was eating because it looked good :/ But, I enjoyed myself anyway, despite my ice water "crashing" into my face and spilling all down my front.

After Manitou we went back to Cathy and Shannon's house where we watched a movie, after which we went to Wendy's (where I got two Frosty's) and then to Walmart. We pretty much painted the town Mid-West style...and had a blast doing it. The entire time Cathy and I had the rap song "I Got It At Ross" stuck in our heads, much to the frustration of Shannon, I am sure. This was only intensified by the sighting of at least three Ross' during the day.

Somewhere during this time we hit up the Chapel Hill Mall, just to walk around. We made our way to Old Navy where we bought amazing bouncy balls for .25$ each and entertained ourselves by bouncing them around the mall. We were accosted by a man yelling in a middle-eastern accent, "do you girls want to buy my face cream? Come here and try it, you are very beautiful girls!" ...we simply ran away. Only to run into another man selling something that Shannon simply looked straight into his eyes and said VERY firmly, "No, thank you" and all he could do was wish a nice day. Cathy and I were very impressed with Shannon's ability to back off the walkway snipers with a single look.

The evening was finished off at Shannon and Cathy's house again, where we watched The Newsies (with Christian Bale) and then I was brought home. Overall it was a very enjoyable day, and I am going to miss these girls lots and lots!!

P.S. sorry if the writing is sloppy and disjointed...I'm very tired, but I wanted to write it all down before I forgot!

Goodnight Blog world!

  3. Haha, I just got around to catching up on my "following" of blogs... I think my creepy-foreign-mall-pedlar finesse is just part of growing up in Cleveland. "NO. Thank you. I'm not interested in buying Kool-aid 'her' dye or lip balm for my crusty-crusts. *glare*" :) Works every time.
